Anne-Marie Duff (born in England) is an English actress and narration. Duff made a cameo appearance on TV on Trial & Retribution Amongst Women & Aristocrats, in the 1990s. She gained fame as Fiona Gallagher, the lead character on UK TV's Shameless in its initial two seasons. The Virgin Queen (2006) was her first appearance as the role of Queen Elizabeth in The Virgin Queen, and she was also the lead character in From Darkness (2015). Duff is famous for her role in Enigma (2002) The Magdalene Sisters French Film (2008) The Last Station Nowhere Boy Before I Sleep (2014), and Suffragette. The Virgin Queen Shameless The Virgin Queen and Suffragette have all landed her BAFTA Nominations as Best Actresses. Anne-Marie Duff has been a highly successful and award-winning English Actress who made her mark on the stage, radio and television. The roles she played on Shameless (a British comedy-drama TV series) and The Virgin Queen, a TV miniseries that focused on Queen Elizabeth I garnered her mainstream notoriety. Anne-Marie has also evolved as an experienced theatre actress, having more than two decades experience on-stage performances that include extensive work with her theatre company, the Royal National Theatre.
